How do you set off doing something? How do you go about with an intention of achieving something worth the while?
Do you take it slow, and do things as other things happen along the way?
Or would you rather have it through rigorous, intense work, but spanning only for relatively a short period of time?
For me, I think and believe things are much more attainable for us, our goals in this sense, if we seek small, if not, just tiny progress after each day, or, if it applies, spanning a few days. As long as, we reach some progress no matter how trivial after each session of applying effort. As long as we’re able to do, learn something, and give things a thought, consistently.
Now this for me, this means breaking things down into much smaller and simpler units.
So that, we could get a better understanding of the important underlying fundamentals. And so that, we find it more possible for us to follow through with helpful actions that solidify it into a good habit.
My friends, we can only become consistent if we make good things into a habit. Tasks or actions that help us move forward toward our goals. Like studying (not cramming), reading a good book, nurturing well-meaning friendships, teaching others, and or growing others also.
For example. You can set a goal, it should be time-bound somehow, it should be measurable, it needs to be simple, specific, and attainable.
It could be something like: “I’ll become a job-ready computer programmer writing JavaScript to build helpful apps within 12 months”.
This goal could be attained, in my opinion. If you also put a structured plan behind it. One that is simple to follow, so that we can become consistent in following the steps to it.
Your plan could become an outline of various steps that you need to do within a span of 12 months.
Such as, enroll and finish a particular online course. Get hands-on practice as a junior programmer. Build small projects that you can later on showcase in a portfolio. Read relevant books about JavaScript. Get familiar with online documentations. And if possible, connect with other learners who also want to become developers or programmers.
You could further break down these supporting steps that will help you reach your goal of becoming a qualified programmer at the end of 12 months.
And also, we must never forget to first seek guidance and counsel from the Lord, our God. Through sincere prayer, we offer up our plans at the foot of the Holy Cross of our Lord Jesus, the Christ.
When we embark on any journey. Let us first kneel down before the Holy Crucifix. And ask God to guide us to do His will. God’s will before our own. God’s will, must be for our work and efforts to bear good fruit that lasts through the seasons of life.
For me, I’m also in a learner’s journey similar as with this example above. I’m working to become an engineer. And it is my goal to land a good job in a well-meaning and a responsible organization. Work to be part of, that allows me to help connect what I can help do with I.T. with something good for people. And work that allows me to earn a living for myself and also for my loved-ones.
Well, I guess this brings us to the end of this post.
Thank you for spending your time here to read. I hope this has been helpful to you.
May God bless you, my friends.
Hello there! How are you? My name is Abraham, or, Abe to all my friends, acquaintances, and family.
I’m a young dad, an uncle, an older kuya, and a son. I love learning and putting things together when it comes to small projects around computers, and tech. And for me, I also love food, everyday drink — like coffee, and most furry creatures — like good doggo doggos (goofy doggos), and chonky (very fat, almost circular and literally round) cattos. ^_^ Anyway, I hope good animals also make you chuckle, my friends.
Recently, I was hired to work as an engineer in I.T., specializing in looking after web-servers, maintenance, and a few other stuff.
Thank God! From my end, I had been dreaming to become an engineer in I.T., and have been studying for it for a time now.
We mustn’t stop with our training and study. For we’ll need to keep learning in order for us to remain helpful.
Nawa, ang Panginoon’g Diyos ang Siyang purihin, dakilain, at pasalamatan sa ating mga gawain, at salita.
My friends, may the Lord our God be glorified, honored, and praised – through the kind of work that He called us unto.
Thank you, and for now, that’s mostly it for me. Salamat po!
