My friends, the Holy Week isn’t about just going to vacation. Or having a good time away from the workplace.
It’s about God’s great love for us, so much — that He gave up His only begotten Son. And that His Son, our Lord Jesus, the Christ — was obedient to God the Father, to the point of a humiliating death on the Cross. Through crucifixion. For our redemption from our sins, from death, and from our own darkness. The darkness of sin. And remember my friends, the wages of sin, is death.
We all need God’s mercy.
We all need God’s graces, in every part of our life. My friends, we need God, always, before, at present, and beyond.
Without God, we truly are nothing.
But with God, there is hope.
With God, there is true Life.
Brothers and sisters, I do ask you now, let us spend more time in solemn prayer and reflection, on this Holy Week.
With our families, let us ask them to come with us, to go with us, to church. To hear Holy Mass. To pray. To go to confession, for the forgiveness of our sins. If need be, to be baptized again. Also, during Easter Sunday, particularly at the Easter Vigil, there is a renewal of baptismal vows to the Lord, our God.
Apart from our family, let us also take with us, to church, our friends.
Salvation is for everybody. Our God, in the form of a real human person in Christ Jesus, died for you and me. Our Lord Jesus, is true God and true human being. He (our Lord Jesus) died for every single person. For the forgiveness of our sins. He paid the price for our sins and wrong-doings.
Christ Jesus died for you and me. He died for all people. Regardless of their characteristics, regardless of human race, or their set of beliefs in life.
Salvation from eternal death. It is God’s gift for each one of us.
With it, we must take and receive. We must also ask God to increase our faith in Him. We need to ask God’s grace, to increase our love for God, and in the sacraments, to understand these a little more. To also begin to appreciate and understand how important and how Holy, the Mass really is.
My friends, we all need God.
Without God, there is no salvation. Not by our works alone. No.
We constantly need God.
We need both faith, and works. This Holy Week, let us be more forgiving. Let us be more giving of ourself to others. Let us be kinder even to ourselves. Let us stop judging others quickly or harshly. Remember, that we all sin. Just in different ways. We all fall short. And we all require and need God’s mercy and forgiveness.
Love is shown through our actions, and through our words.
Come, let us pray.
Let us reflect on Holy Scripture. We must carefully read the Holy Bible, and listen intently on the reflection and interpretation from the holy priests of God, from our religious sisters and brothers. They are also our guides, along with God, the Holy Spirit.
Let us listen to the admonitions… to the reminders and messages of our holy priests from the church. For me, this means the Catholic church.
We must also listen to our brothers and sisters from the religious orders. They possess a much greater spiritual maturity than ourselves, my friends.
Let us pray, especially right after waking up from sleep in the morning. Let us give thanks to God. Let us ask for His guidance and blessings.
Let us also always ask for help and prayers from our blessed virgin Mary, from saint Joseph, and from all the heavenly court of other saints, and holy angels of God. Their prayers reach God. And God listens to their prayers all the more. God listens to all our prayers too.
Finally, let us also always ask for a good and a holy death, when our time comes for us to leave going to the after life. For me, I have learned to ask God for a good death also.
For we never know, for until when we are breathing and walking on the Earth. We never know when, it could be shortly later on. Death could come tomorrow, or in the next morning.
The best time to prepare for death, and for the after life, is in the present. And through God’s way for us. May God’s will be done, in our lives.
May God bless you.
This brings us to the end of this post, my friends.
Thank you, and keep safe and well.
Remember, pray fervently and reflect.
Hello there! How are you? My name is Abraham, or, Abe to all my friends, acquaintances, and family.
I’m a young dad, an uncle, an older kuya, and a son. I love learning and putting things together when it comes to small projects around computers, and tech. And for me, I also love food, everyday drink — like coffee, and most furry creatures — like good doggo doggos (goofy doggos), and chonky (very fat, almost circular and literally round) cattos. ^_^ Anyway, I hope good animals also make you chuckle, my friends.
Recently, I was hired to work as an engineer in I.T., specializing in looking after web-servers, maintenance, and a few other stuff.
Thank God! From my end, I had been dreaming to become an engineer in I.T., and have been studying for it for a time now.
We mustn’t stop with our training and study. For we’ll need to keep learning in order for us to remain helpful.
Nawa, ang Panginoon’g Diyos ang Siyang purihin, dakilain, at pasalamatan sa ating mga gawain, at salita.
My friends, may the Lord our God be glorified, honored, and praised – through the kind of work that He called us unto.
Thank you, and for now, that’s mostly it for me. Salamat po!
